butterfly cake

butterfly cake

I baked another little cake today, because I really wanted to use this super cute butterfly sprinkles. I used a buttercream with sweetened condensed milk* which does melt the sprinkles (250g of butter whipped together with 400g of sweetened condensmilk), which I colored in different shades of pink* and a hint of burgundy*. For icing the cake I used again the upside-down-method

piping tips

After I frosted the cake, I filled the buttercream in 3 piping bags with the tips 1M*, 2D* and 32*. You can see clearly the difference between the 1M in dark pink and the 2D in light pink. 2D gives you more a flower shape. After I piped all of the frosting, I added a generous amount of butterfly sprinkles to the top and added single butterflys on the sides.
